Zach was larger than life and touched many lives in his short 26 years. From

his contagious laugh and outgoing personality, he could always put a smile on

your face. His insane ambition and thirst for life impacted and motivated

everyone around him. Zach’s loyalty, love and support was so strong and pure.

 

At just 8 years old Zach was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and

experienced severe lows in his blood sugar. There were several times his blood

sugar dropped so low that he would not wake up and was found unresponsive

in his home in a diabetic coma.

The difficulties Zach faced being diabetic and his love for dogs is why we have

chosen to help individuals and families obtain Diabetic Alert Dogs with DADA.

Our hope is to help many families obtain alert dogs to help warn diabetics of

low blood sugars that can lead to a diabetic coma and ease some of the worry

families face with loved ones who have T1D.

 

We have created Zach’s Effect where we hope to inspire and motivate others to

achieve greatness and support those around you like Zach always did.
